Advice for anyone who wants to start a blog ( Pt 1)

Advice for anyone who wants to start a blog ( Pt 1)

I get asked a lot about my blogging journey and everything to do with it via emails, dms etc So as i promised i will talk more about blogging in general here, My first “blogger talk ” was about how bloggers and brands can work together read all about it -> here Now my second blogger talk it’s for anyone who wants to start blogging here’s a few advice i would like to give and wish i had given myself over the years before i truly started blogging.

Blog about what you like/love and know

I can not stress how important this part is. When i say blog about what you like / love or know about. ( or are currently experiencing i.e New Mothers) it should be the main reason you are blogging or what your blog is about. For me this came automatically i just love fashion and i needed a place i could share my looks and so that was easy for me to do. Now if you feel like blogging is something you would like to do either for fun or as a serious career you need to know exactly what you will be writing daily about. There’s so much to blog about, Fashion, lifestyle ( travel, food) , books, interior design, being a young mom etc.

    Be consistent

In order to succeed in life one should always be consistent with whatever they do, it is the same thing with blogging. You need to constantly post on your blog ( not everyday but depending with your blogging schedule) and to be consistent with what you share on your social media accounts and/or newsletter. I can not say much about this part but remember it’s one of  the most important things out of everything i will talk about.

Research on what you will be blogging.

Just like anything you would like to do in life, it’s good to research very well on what you will be blogging about through people on the same industry. I do fashion and lifestyle blogging so when i got serious with blogging i looked after successful bloggers who are doing the same thing i wanted to do to see what they do right and wrong, read their blogs and sometimes i even sent some emails and direct messages and they were happy enough to answer any questions that i had.

Research is formalized curiosity, it is poking and prying WITH a purpose. - Zora Neale Click To Tweet

    Invest Money and Time.

Blogging on it’s own can and is a full time career to some people and if you need to achieve a certain level of being a successful blogger you need to remember to always invest time and money to bring out the best out of your blog. Whether it’s through hiring a photographer to take your pictures, to the restaurants / hotels and oh so many places we’ve paid to shoot and the actual  time it takes us to create great content and actually execute all the plans we’ve set for our blogs, that’s how it will pay off someday and make your blog a success. Always try as much as you can to bring out good quality content, having 70 good quality blog posts that you are proud of and have invested time and/or money on is better than 200 blog posts that are of basic content that won’t get you anywhere.

Your NETWORK is your NET WORTH ! Click To Tweet

Someone asked me a few weeks back if i am an aggressive blogger and the truth is lately i can shamelessly  say i am not, but when you are a blogging always remember to push your blog, social media accounts etc literally anything to do with your blog. Network with people all over the world through your social media accounts, leave a lovely comment on their blogs or posts, trust me it goes a very long way in the long run Go to events that are inline with what you do and talk to people about your blog or just find out what they do etc. Always remember  “your NETWORK is your NET WORTH”

I totally agree, consistency is the key and quality over quantity is a motto to live by if you are planning to take your blog on the next level. Thank you for sharing this, super helpful.
